Changing tastes?

Hey all

My little hybrid Chub is now 16 months and I've noticed recently that what foods he goes nuts over has changed.

He used to charge at your hands for sunflower seeds, now he can take them of leave them. He never used to bother with peanut, now he loves it. I generally break one up and hide it around the cage once a week and if he so much as gets a whiff of it on my hand he starts chasing it about crazily.

He used to love apple, now he's not so fussed, but goes wild for red pepper. He still loves his broccoli though. I don't think that will ever change.

I'm quite excited about this, as it's given me a wee kick up the bum to spice up his diet a little bit. I discovered what he liked the best and have just really stuck with it, but we'll now have a new sample treat menu on the cards haha. He's still a grubber, so I'm not worried at all, just wondered if anyone else has experienced it?

My winter white dwarf hamster, Chubz did that too. He used to love cucumbers, but now he likes cauliflower and sunflower seeds. My other winter white dwarf hamster, Nugget LOVES cucumbers it's nutritious and delicious, if you don't give them too much. My Chinese hamster eats anything we give him. Surprisingly, he is very very healthy. Maybe they just get tired of eating one treat, don't we humans do that too? We will never know, or will we? (Cliff hanger) Haha!

Livvy's tastes have changed, too. She used to go mad for sunflower seeds but now she's all about a mealworm.

Saying that, she's also partial to my clothes .....!

Phoenix was addicted to sunflower seeds; now they are left in the bowl to be eaten by her mom, haha!
