monkey nuts :-)

Can hamsters have monkey nuts? If yes would I have to shuck them or can I give them to the girls and they will break into them to get the nut?

Yes and I find they love them!

You may need to just put a little crack in it so that they have something to get their teeth in to, although some can do it without the help.

All my hams love um! I have to break them up a bit for the campbells but Lola my syrian had it straight from the bag and loved attacking her first one last night.

I gave Max one last week and he went nuts over it - no pun intended! I didnt even break it open for him, done it all by himself!
They come in the Harry Hamster mix so they are definately ok

Sammy has one or two a NIGHT! He has one when he wakes up and one when he goes to sleep!
He loves them. And has had them since my Dad was eating them and he was holding Sammy and Sammy ran up and grabbed it from his hand and began nibbling it!
My dwarves (campbells and robo) don't like them though!

My robos don't think much of monkey nuts but my Syrian and Campbell's love them as occasional treats (they get bored if they have the same thing too often - they're very fickle). I have a little WW girl ,Snowdrop, who likes a monkey nut every day. It doesn't matter what food I give her, if she hears me cracking a monkey nut, she literally drops everything and rushes straight over to me and stands up trying to reach me!!

My syrians love monkey nuts, it's all they'd eat if I let them!

I put them half way through the bars of their cage so it's a bit of a challenge to get them, keeps them entertained and it helps wear down their teeth too!

They come in the harry hamster mix so they are deffinetly ok. Mine have a tub full and they have one every other nyt or so.
Especially good for any pregnant hammies as its a good source of protein!

I buy my hamsters monkey nuts from the pet shop, but are the ones sold in the supermarket just the same
