Question Pearl Barley

I brought a 500g bag of pearl barley from Morrisions today for 49p and wondered if it is okay for the hams to eat? If so, should i give it as a treat or can i add it to the mix like i do with the buckwheat and porridge oats?

Pearl barley is safe, I add it to Rubys mix and even though it's not her favourite it is almost always eaten

What about it swelling in their tummies? I've got some dried pearl barley that I use in stews and it swells up when cooked.

Could that happen? I will wait to give it to the hams for the moment

I'm not sure... I know people say you shouldn't give hams uncooked rice because it can swell in their tummies.

Silver will know
