I've just ordered the apple mix and a top up of the plain. I have the banana and feed them half plain and half banana at the moment. Our old hamster empty's his dish in no time. The middle one loves it and he's a picky eater. The baby took to it right away. It seems in no time a tub is gone whereas before I had to throw so much away.

That is really good news Lynternette.

It is surprising how much of the commercial mix's get thrown away. I once picked all the grass pellets out of a bag of dwarf burgess food it was almost half the bag!

tell me about it!
I used to have to throw all those affalfa out, the large green things out, the small seedy bits out.. all of harry hamster, did they even eat any of it XD

the new mix is such a hit, even compared to the dwarf mix they loved, i left half their bowl of the old, and put some new on top, so they have a bit of both, they are hoovering up the new stuff first
bon soir in particular loves it, he isnt food orientated at all, barely stores anything, dosnt care for dog biccies or baby food that much, but he is loving this!

all the syrians are on it and all are loving it!
my dwarfies are on mix 1 and they are enjoying that

I notice a lot of people are saying they've ordered the plain mix and not the fruit ones.
I think they're maybe worried about the sugar in the fruit being in their diet every day, but actually I'm using the apple mix at the minute and there's not loads of apple in it at all (in a good way!!) Rudi probably gets a small piece every 2 or 3 days only and it's not the dried, very sweet apple it's sort spongey and soft.
I originally said I'd pick the fruit out myself, but I don't see the need now.
Hope people give all the mixes a chance
