Yikes! A zombie hamster! The mealworm treats sound good to me. Peanuts are high in fat (but not saturated fat) so try and limit those. She sounds as though she needs a bit more training before attempting to handle her if she taking chunks out of you!

She doesn't know it is part of you. All she knows is she has been successful in 'hunting' a nutritious treat and she hay well try it again. Be sure to teach her not to bite. Pick her up from above holding her like a computer mouse with her head under the heel of your hand. There is nothing to grip there. Don't present a finger or something she can bite as she will bite then. If she does say no and lay her down and pick up and then lift and lay several times. Don't get her straight out the cage with your hands. Use a ball or tube to let her crawl in to then lift her out and away from the cage. She may be cage aggressive.

One of my little Campbells was a committed biter. Every single day you'd get a bite. You could shout OUCH!!! and no reaction. She just couldn't stop. We tried everyting but nothing worked. She was Athena but we soon changed it to Vampira. She was a little beauty with such a pretty little face. She'd come to the bars with a face of pure innocence. I think a crab would have been a better option.

I moved her into her own cage and she's stopped. It may have just been out of stress.

Haha, I totally relate to your story, can't resist the puppy face. My dog is 3 years old now and I still fall for those big eyes every once in a while
