Yes they can have low fat cereals, like Cheerios, corn flakes, special K,just avoid the ones with lots of sugar added and you should be fine.I also feed mine porridge oats sprinkled on their food(a nice tip from a member on HC) xxx

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I'd go easy on the Weetabix. I tried giving that to them once and noticed how easily and quickly the Weetabix absorbed water and puffed up - I'm wary that it might cause bloating or dehydration. Still, this is speculation on my part, someone else might know more.

Any cereal low on sugar and I mean very low on sugar and salt is fine. Avoid anything frosted or chocolate at all costs. I still do not feed my boys "human" foods ever, its just not worth the risk on anything processed. The only processed food my boy gets is pasta and the only cooked is oats and couscous. He does get chicken, eggs, fruit, veg etc but I am loath to call these human foods :P as they are just natural ingredients suitable for hamsters, unlike my rats who do get human food although dependent on added salt and sugar.

Porridge oats - Sainsbury's has its own brand of Scottish rolled porridge oats that are just 100% oats.
Shredded wheat - Nestle's own brand of large shredded wheat biscuits contain only 100% wheat.
Rye grain - health food shops have this, like for around £1/500g
Puffed rice - organic puffed rice cakes contain to additives
Bran flakes or shredded bran - usually supermarkets have their own brands that are suitable
I don't recommend things like Wheatabix/Oatabix they usually have honey holding them together, plus bits of fruit and possibly a bit of spicing like cinnamon/sugar/salt. Many cereals have added vitamins which you should definitely look out for and avoid. Anything overly processed, like kid's cereals and stuff are no good.

These cereals are loaded with additives. Should be fed as a treat only
