Ok, thanks. I think I might just order the dwarf in the meantime then. It seems a more rounded and therefore healthier food so would like to start him on it sooner than later. I'll let you know how I go

Hi Silver - my mix has only just arrived (ordered over a week ago!!) Anyway I know it has Krill in it, but it does smell rather fishy (more than I would have thought) - is that normal?
Thanks!

Hello Rudi,

Sorry about the delay I spoke with them today about something else & they are busy in the middle of mixing tons of mix's for a show they are going to. While I know this dose not make up for it that's what I got told.

Yes the smell is very strong to begin with, after a while is seems to calm down a lot. I found that by putting it into a air tight container makes it smell less than the plastic bag.

Oh no it wasn't a trouble really- I was just so keen to try it!
I thought it was maybe more to do with the post than Ratrations, but no worries either way.
Great I will transfer as soon as, and I'll start by giving him a pinch tonight with his other stuff and gradually increase. I forgot it had mealworms & when I spied one it did give me the heebies a wee bit, but if it's good for Rudes I'll just suffer it
Will keep you updated. Thanks Silver

I'm looking forward to how Rudes gets on with it

Just going to agree with that - I keep mine in one of the asda stackable tubs, and it doesn't smell much at all now - but it does pong the first time you open the plastic bag! Definitely better to move it to a tub.

Thanks guys!
Well Rudi seems quite impressed so far! I've only been giving him half a teaspoon with 1 1/2 of his regular food so far, but when I first put it in he goes right over and seems to pick the smaller parts (dwarf mix) out straight away and eats a fair bit.
His bowl is more or less empty in the morning, but he has started hoarding again, so when I change his cage tomorrow I'll see how much stash is uneaten!
He seems to be leaving the mealworms though - he must know I don't like them so he's came out in sympathy for me
