Re: Strangest thing your hamsters eaten?
Our hamsters frequently try and pouch Pophammy's very long hair! I think they feel it would make a nice nest!

Sam, baileys had my phone several times. May take a photo at some point! It lasted a year without a single crack, then she destroyed it in the space of ten minutes. I think I would love it if she pitched my finger!

Mine have started doing that and I've had to try and stop them from chewing it too!

Aww silly hams!
Ruby will sometimes try and 'groom' my hair. She's never pouched it though!

lol the impressive thing with Scamp was that she was only free for about 10 seconds... I heard her getting out of the cage, just couldn't grab her before she'd taken a chunk from my phone.
Spent the next week dreading finding she'd swallowed it and blocked her guts or something afterwards too.

Re: Strangest thing your hamsters eaten?
Both my boys have been spending the holiday with me at mums and have met mums cats. (two black fluffy persians) and continually try and pouch cat fur while its still attached to the cat. The very large male cat now has a complex. He looks over his shoulder frequently and searches for the hammies before sitting down and when he sees one, runs the other way and seeks refuge up high. (although that doesnt always stop my little dwarfs climbing to follow him. )
Hamster= predator
Cat=prey
Poor cat is pertrified after beeing eaten and watching little critters try and burry into him

One of my childhood hamsters used to do this. I was strangely disappointed when Luna didn't even attempt to do it the first time she found my hair lol.
Luna has a quick nibble of her toilet litter when I change it sometimes. She spits it out straight away though, it must taste horrible!
