What cheese
Hi what kind of cheese can you feed a dwarf hamster?

If it`s a chinese hamster I would`nt feed cheese at all. They don`t need cheese when they have their own mix and added seeds and grains. Just put a few of those on your open hand and let the hamsters hoover them up! Dried mealworms as treats would be a better option as they are more natural to a hamster.

I think her ham is a Winter White.
I'd say normal cheddar is best but cheese should only be fed as a treat, once every couple of weeks I'd say.

LOL Izu chirped in anger at something when I read that cheese should only be fed every couple of weeks.
I agree that it shouldn't be fed too much, Izu is having to cut down. That decision hasn't sat well with him at all

My lot have only just discovered cheese, but I'd probably say a firm type of cheese, and in moderation. My guess is that firm cheese can be pouched and nibbled safely, whereas soft cheese could lead to sticky pouch problems...
