Default Would Anyone Be Interested?

Hello Everyone,

Ive been on a quest to find a dwarf hamster mix that is varried in the ingredents, & which is not full of alfifa pellets. The main reason being that Dwarf hamsters can eat a vast amount of different seeds, grains, herbs & plants but finding a food which has all of these in is non existant apart from the verry expensive Hamster Dream, which is £10.10 for a bag of 600g. And yes it too has the Alfifa in it .

So with the help of a verry knowledgeable lady in Germany & asking breeders here in the uk I have made up quiet a few different Dwarf Hamster mix's.

I have several base mix's which can be fed to all dwarfs even the diabetes prone chinease & Hyrids. These base mix's have no corn, fruit or veg, but do have different herbs in them. They have a mix of Grains, seeds, herbs & nuts, which have all been carefully worked out to be a balanced mix.

Then I have added some veg into mix's that can be eaten by non diabetic prone hamsters like Winter Whites & Pure Campbell's.

Now I know of a website that sell's animal foods that "may" be interested but have not so far gone any further in finding out about this.

So back to my original question in the thread title, would anyone be interested in this. It would be sold on the animal food website. There will be postage to pay ontop of the price of the food. There will be a few mix's to choose from. They will be a natural balanced dwarf hamster mix's.

Silver xxx

Sorry I also forgot to say that all the mix's will contain fish & Mealworms

Sounds promising Silver and well done for taking such a task on! I tried the Burgess Hamster Harvest `dwarf` mix and it was terrible. FULL of tiny pieces of alfalfa and not much else. So I have switched to the Burgess Supahamster Harvest original and just pick out the corn/maize and banana pieces, which then leaves the mix just like a muesli on it`s own and I add in some other puffed grains and seeds myself to add variety.

I would be very interested in a break down of what seeds, grains and herbs you have decided to include within your mix? And how the protein, fat, fibre etc is worked out? It`s never an exact science I know because it`s just as important to look at the actual ingredients and what they alone bring to the mix in terms of amino acids and other proteins.

I would certainly give it a go just based on what`s in it and even if it was just to mix in with my Burgess mix, it would certainly add more ingredients to the `base` mix.

I`m a big fan of naturally sourced, wholegrain foods without colourings and added flavours which are artificial most of the time. So do keep us updated on this.

Silver, maybe it would be great to contact NHC for some ideas, and possible advertizing of this at hamster shows? maybe even supplying small bags as a try-outs with the websites where this could be bought? I know they sell food and toys at the shows too, so maybe they would let you do this as well (not sure what the correct procedure of this is, as I only saw them selling Harry Hamster there and other well known brands)

Thank You racinghamster

Obviously at the moment I don't want to list the ingredients as I don't want them coppied

But lets just say that the ratio of Mealie, oleiferous seeds, & Protien has been worked out so that its a balanced mix

Thanks Katarina thats a good idea xxx

It sounds great, well done of thinking of this! I have syrians at the moment, but once I have some dwarfs again I'll be coming for some for sure!
