Exclamation Not sure what to do now ...

I posted recently about being worried that Belle might not be eating. I changed her food but still mix it with her old food. Just now I saw her eat 2 seeds and that was it. I did a full clean out of her cage this evening and checked what was stored in her bed. She still seemed to have the same amount stored each day this week so I can not work out what she is eating. I tried giving her a raisin earlier and she ate half of it then threw the rest away. She's turned her nose up at any fruit or veg I've tried to give her even though I've seen her eat them before and know she likes them. She either totally ignores the fruit and veg or stores it but doesn't eat it. I'm not sure What to do now. I'm not exactly sure what Belle is eating especially as each time I check her store there's always the same amount in it ... Should I take her to the vet, or is there anyway of tempting her to eat something? I'm getting more and more concerned about her. I've never experienced this in a hamster before. Belle seems ok in herself. She's still active, running around on her wheel. She still loves having cuddles and will usually come to the door of the cage when I open it so because of ting things I feel that she's probably not ill, but can't think of any other reason she wouldn't eat!

Maybe it's the heat? I know when it's hot, I don't want to eat as much, so maybe hams have the same thing.

Thinking about it, Darla's not been as fussed about food recently as usual, despite me feeding him Silver's mix, which he loves. I put it down to him getting used to having it, he only started getting it a week and a half ago, but maybe it's the heat as well.

Have you tried weighing her and keeping track of her weight for a few weeks and if she does not eat I guess it will show... that's about the only idea I have

You never know when she is eating when you aren't watching or when she is eating from her hoard! The only time I ever saw Gemma eat was when I was hand-feeding her sunflower seeds (her favorite!)... I think that weighing is a good idea for your peace of mind (buy a small digital scale), and also check her teeth to see if she is able to eat. Maybe even try baby food

With a bowl and a kitchen scale of course. Just put the bowl on the kitchen scale and weigh it, then weigh your hamster in the bowl on the scale. You can set the scale to weigh 0 with the bowl on, or subtract the weight of the bowl manually.

I'm confused now! I gave her a new bowl and there is still food in it! I haven't checked her store yet as she's asleep but I know she has some food in there. Normally she stores the whole lot in her bed but as there is still food in her bowl I'm not sure if she's actually eating what's in her store now ... I'll check later and update ...

Maybe you should take her to the vet to get her teeth looked at? Maybe she's in some pain, when she eats.
