Food Change?
I ran out of hamster food, so I went to the pet store but they didn't have the same food. I had to get different food and suddenly change it. The food does look about the same as the other food. Is it bad to change the food suddenly?

Re: Food Change?
changing suddenly can cause the hamster to be stressed if i remember correctly, if your changing the food its best to do it gradually

Re: Food Change?
It can cause digestion problems unfortunately
How much of the other food does your ham have left? If there's none you don't really have a choice but mayeb a few stashes have built up?

Re: Food Change?
It`s always a good idea to get a new fresh bag in long before the current one runs out. It prevents having to switch foods at short notice. Try other shops as they may stock the food you normally use?
Try also adding dry porridge oats to the mix (jumbo oats are best). These can be found in supermarkets.

Re: Food Change?
Well, she did build up a few stashes before I changed it, so she may have eaten those first.

Re: Food Change?
A majority of hamster foods contain the same sort of ingredients anyway so I really wouldn't panic.
