Quorn might sound gross in dissection, but then so does the process of beer fermentation, or bacterial cultures in yogurt, or yeast needed to make bread rise. I'd say it's a matter of being used to something and accepting it as a fact vs. something novel and strange. The important part is whether Quorn's bad for consumption for adverse health effects in humans, which is probably very uncommon. We've had it lots of times without any issues. As for giving it to hamsters, I have no idea =/

I'm going to hazard a guess at no. If I eat too much Quorn (and I frequently do, I love it!) I get a very upset tummy and I think this is quite a common thing. I know their digestion works differently to ours but I wouldn't give him anything that makes my tummy angry. Although.. the other day I let him lick my spoon after I had some frozen yoghurt. But he seems to have a cast iron tummy tbh! Greedy fatty

Mushrooms, cheese, cream and much more is basically mould too. It's just about how you view things.

Bread and beer and wine are made with yeasts, and guess what they are . We use lots of microbial products to make our food, in fact, all the best food! I have no problem with it. In the grand scheme of things, I think there are many more moulds and stuff that are useful (and tasty) to us opposed to bad for us.
