LOL. I'm not putting you off that toxic (yes it's toxic untill cooked) little bean soya as well am I?
When it's turned into Tofu its ok.
Untill you get old, then it can apparently speed up the onset of dementia ofc.
On the whole it's quite healthy. Probably. Almost certainly.
A couple of billion folk can't be wrong can they?
I'll stick with my omnivorous diet though. Red meat once a week is fine for me.

I don't want dementia, it runs in our family and I really don't want to speed it up! Sticking with what I know!

Good stuff.
Organic free range chicken then.
Mind you there is the whole bird flu thing.....

OKokokok....

I guess what i'm really trying to say is that you make a choice with any meat, veg or substitute as to what will probably be the best for you, but unless you 'grow your own' so to speak, you never really know what is happening all the way up the supply chain, what chemicals are used, how healthy the live stock is etc. If you over analize the things you eat you would never eat them.
If you want to be vegetarian thats fine, if you want eat meat thats fine too. If you are forced onto a specific diet because you are unable to process red meat or something then obviously thats fine too, but hamsters are omnivores and the best diet for them may include something you would rather it didnt. I just thought you might want to bear that in mind when you feed your cutie.
I just....... dislike it when we push our values onto animals who have no say in the matter. Hey that sounded like a bit of a rant, didnt it? Not intended to be one though.

I am fine feeding Noodles meat. I don't eat red meat as I can't just digest it! It gives me bad indegestion! I always try and buy organic and free range. I stuff my face with veggies so there is always loads for Noodles!

Hey, that wasnt directed speciffically at you, its just I find the idea of varying any animals diet to fit our moral structure a bit twisted, and if Buddist monks can feed the tigers that they look after red meat (ok admitedly it's cooked not raw), then I'm sure we can unbend enough to provide the best diet for our lovely little animals too.
OK, i'll cut out the satire and irony as well as the sarcasm now. For a little while.

I'm not going to force them on to my diet, don't worry - if I owned a cat I would of course feed it meat. My neighbour is the only meat-eater in his house so when he has chicken I get a bit for them. It's just I have a lot of Quorn in the house and was wondering if it would be ok for them to try it, but judging on this I won't, just in case.

Meh, I know what Quorn is made of, it bothers me a lot less that eating meat so I'll take my chances!

i much prefer this description, im actually phobic of the M word, i wont even type it or say it

no i wouldnt feed hamsters quorn either though, you could always buy meal worms and tins of insects in for them, and some cat kibble, that way you dont actually have to buy in "real" meat

a bit off topic.. sorry guys.. I am a veg. in America and eat Quorn quite a bit as well.. Looked at the UK site vs. the American site and am saddened to see that the UK has such a variety! I would love to see that here.

There's only such a variety here because it's been on the market longer. The FDA in the USA were initially quite reluctant to even let it on the market. Something to do with the mould being confused with another strain I believe.
