Default This or doggy treats?

At the pet store this morning the fiancé and I got Harley this Versele-Laga Premium Petfood (picture is attached). We chose this mix mainly because of the small red and brown 'items' (have no clue what to call them). When I got home I mixed half the bag with the rest of Harley's food mix which we keep in a container. That mix just had small dried fruit bits, sunflower seeds, a few walnuts and other bits and bobs that the fiancé knows the names to.

My question, will those small red and brown 'items' do the same work on her teeth as the doggy treats would?

Yeah they should sweety, they are probably cat biscuits, as they are hard they should wear down teeth as dog biscuits would. I still give my hams bonios too as they love gnawing on them, also make sure they have plenty of wooden chews.
I seen this post earlier and thought I had replied. Hope this helps you hun xxxx

Thank you. I'm sorry about the impatience, but I was at work getting ready to come home and the internet doesn't know whether or not it wants to function at home.

I am sure those are fine, but when feeding cat/dog biscuits, check that there isn't too much salt!

Yeah, any hard foods should help wear down teeth but maybe give her some wood or mineral chews to keep in her cage too.

I'm going to be dragging the fiancé to the pet shop early on Saturday. Hopefully we can get something that will distract Harley enough so that she won't resort to chewing on the bars. We let her out as much as we can but with no play pen at the moment I think she will not stop the bar chewing.

My hamster Piccolo used to go mental at the bar chewing, but we added one of those non-sweet natural seed sticks to her cage and the problem was solved! Pet Naturals sell some really yummy ones, like carrot and fennel or sunflower seed and broccoli!
