Thumbs up Your Food Mix/Treats

I've seen this type of thread on so many hamster forums, i thought HC should join in too

Basicly you just post on here all the treats you have and where you store them and you food mixes and where you store them.

I found these types of threads really useful when wanting to know what to put in my own home mixed food.

First up is my treats
All of the treats i own i feed very sparingly as they contain higher levels of sugar. They are fed one of the treats from the draw about once every 1/2 months, but they get fresh veg every week! The Millet, Dried Bugs and Carrot are fed more often as they contain less sugar.
All my treats are kept in my draw, with a cardboard separator separating them from each other. (I like to be organized )

Now for my food mix. The base is a bag of harry hamster and a half a bag of Tesco hamster food (not value).
I add to the base: Lots of wild bird seed (already mixed, most pet shops sell this), A few handfuls of Meadow Herbs (pet shop), 1 handfull of porridge oats, a small handfull of plain white rice (uncooked), a handfull of dried carrot slices, a bag of dried bugs, a few monkey nuts, a small pinch of baked coconut flakes and some broken up plain cracker. There is some more stuff in it.
(In the pictures the Harry Hamster had not been added)

It is kept in a large plastic tub:

Look forward to hopefully seeing what you have for your hams! x

Woah, never seen so much treats on one place ;D And you really are organized xD

My treats are from left to right-
Dried banana, dried apple, dried carrot, dried beetroot and something like the JR-Farm Nagolade xD

And here's my food-mix -

Hamsterfeast (JR Farm Nagerfutter günstig bei zooplus: JR Farm Hamster-Schmaus)
Zoodi for adult longhaired hamsters (https://www.rodipet.de/index_ssl.htm)

Then i reject some peanuts and sunflower seeds, because they are very fatty and Pringles is thick enough(xD), and add
-Some seeds (flax,carrot,fennel etc)
-herbs (camomile,Echinazea, walnut-leaves and other)
-blossoms(marigold,red clover,mallow etc)
-dried gras
-oat floaks

As proteins they get living bugs and mealworms.
Everyday my hammies get vegetables.

And so it looks like after all

I wish I would have more treats Hope to see some more ideas here, because i search for something without sugar, but i couldn't find some healthy treats so far xD

wow you all feed yoru hams so well!!

ill get pictures when my cameras charged but everyday my hams (in foodbowl) get about 2 teaspoons harry hamster, 1 teaspoon wild bird seed, some rice (uncooked), a few bits of plain cereals, monkey nuts or sometimes a few added peanuts, and some crackers. i'm also going to add some p@h museli and some oats of some sort

Treats... uh usually fresh fruit and veg, also dried fruit/veg too as a treat Pasta if there's leftovers, and ocasionally cooked rice. They also get a tiny bit of yoghurt sometimes To chew on, sometimes they get a dog bonio or a big treat for their teeth

I'm not particularly organised lol the veg and rice etc is in the kitchen, and their main food is in some boxes upstairs

eta:

Got a pic of their main food

in the quality street tin, theres the rice, in the roses tin, the cereals, and in the hexagon biscuit box, some weetabix which they rarely get tbh :P Just sits there In the Mr Men tall cylinder container theres the monkey nuts, and in the clear circular box to the right, theres the harry hamster. in the big box to the right of the harry hamster there's the bird feed. The orange packet infront of the monkey nuts are just some dried fruit which they sometimes get, and next to that are some pine nuts and a plain cracker bad explaining... lol :Px
I really ought to stir it all up lol but it would be one oversised box!!

This is where I store my hamster stuff (and a bag in another room with toys):

And all her food:
Her food mix is the Wagg - Wagg Hamster Gerbil Mouse Munch ? Wagg Foods UK
She gets 3-7 sunflower seeds every day coz she loves them (and it works as training/taming ). And just one "treat" everyday along with her food mix (half handful scattered in her cage)

I need to top up on some stuff and this has given me lots of ideas. Great idea Wofunny. Btw, you're all SO organised! :O

EDIT: Fixed the tiny writing, sorry!

Only plain popcorn, and this was the only way I knew how to get it without using the stuff in a pack for microwaving... Sen loves it! It's like a low-cal sweet corn that big and nibbly!
