Re: How to fatten up my hamster?
I thought they were absolutely gross at first too, then I saw how happy they made my hamsters, and how good a bribe they'd be ;p
The dried ones are ok, but you could use tweezers or gloves..they do smell a bit.
As long as there is no added sugar in the porridge it should be ok, I found some baby rice pudding (which is also good for adding weight) which didn't have any added sugar, and intend on using it as a treat for mine..once they pudge down a little bit D:

Re: How to fatten up my hamster?
Thanks for the advice! The porridge went down very well with everyone. I decided to treat all the house so went to asda and bought some oats. The rats nearly ripped the bowl outta my hand and Louis ate the most I've ever seen him eat. Arthur, on the other hand thought he would just rub the porridge in his face, lool.

Haha!! Glad that the porridge went down so well! Sounds like they all really enjoyed it
Mealworms are a bit gross to begin with (I only have dried though) but you soon get over it, not sure I could deal with live ones though . . . .

Re: How to fatten up my hamster?
I think the live ones would be tougher than my little fluff balls...softies the lot of them.
(unless you go near sandys store... D: )
Wouldn't want the meal worm stealing pillows cage andbullying him into a corner

Hehe!
On a serious note I have heard that the live ones can bite! I have read that when hamsters have pouched them the worm bites the inside of their pouch! *Ouch*
