Debittered Brewer's Yeast
I have heard Souffle reccomend de-bittered brewers yeast several times for hammies whose hair is starting to thin (due to old age, other reasons). I finally bought some recently and tried it with Daisy who was practically bald on her hips and starting to go very thin on her belly - and it's worked wonders!
I have been sprinkling a bit in her porridge and baby food for a couple of weeks and her hair has almost completely grown back in these areas, and the rest of her fur is really thick, plush and soft.
I can definitely reccomend it for thinning hams!

Re: Debittered Brewer's Yeast
Excellent news Shazzy. Glad to hear she is sporting a nice coat again.
You can buy this in Holland and Barratt Health food stores in case anyone is looking for it.

Re: Debittered Brewer's Yeast
Roughly how much and how often would I use this?
I'm glad to hear it worked wonders on little Daisy.

Re: Debittered Brewer's Yeast
I've been giving Daisy a sprinkle every other day with a little porridge or baby food. I just dipped the end of a teaspoon in the bag and scooped up a small amount which would probably equal a pinch - sorry hard to describe exactly how much!
Hopefully that's about right - it's seems to be ok with daisy
It's got quite an odd taste so not sure whether Daisy would eat it just sprinkled on normal food, so that's why I've been mixing it in with something tasty

Re: Debittered Brewer's Yeast
Yes, I have been tempted to try it for me, as long as I can mask the taste as its a bit odd!
