Drinking...

My hamster is only 6 weeks old and I've not had her long but I've noticed that she often gets up during the day for a drink. She's a Syrian and I was wondering if this is normal. When I look at the amount gone from the bottle it's not a huge amount but I thought I'd check with someone with a bit more knowledge. I'm proberbly worrying for no reason. Maybe the bottle isn't working properly? XxX

Its perfectly normal hun... My boys come out during the day for a little drink a quick wee then straight back to bed..

hamsters eat and drink throughout the day, that is why they store their food in their houses as womble said, normal x

Yup, normal. Little Noodles gets up, has a drink and nibble then straight back to bed!

Yes in Germany its normal too

But where does your watering stand. Its important that it stands near the place where your hamster have a sleep. Because of course when they get up from sleeping to drink, they tired and they dont want to walk long in the bright light.

Her water bottle isn't too far from her bed but this is a good point that I hadn't thought of before. Thanks for the tip Steffi.
