It's whether the pellets are a huge part of it or not?
There are other mixes I know of where the 'pellet' part of the mix is just alfalfa, which is a good source of fibre, but you could provide that elsewhere?
that'd be one solution, if most of the minerals are made up in them though, it could lead to problems >.<
Hope somebody else could help you more.. >.<
(and I swear mine didn't touch harry hamster either, maybe the brightness of it freaked them out.. I currently have 5 different hamster foods...only feed her one though...but i kept getting more to see what they were like D

Fussy hammies!

I suspect it's just alfalfa... I know mice don't ever seem to touch alfalfa pellets, and they were the least favourite part of the mix for my last hammy, but she did eat them.

I've just sent a message to the rescue to find out what he was on before. It definitely didn't look like Harry Hamster...

I agree with most of the other Hammie Parents ^
I think the Harry Hamster mix is a very good mix(Bought from Wilkinsons and some other shops or Petshops.) I also think if you cannot get a hold of The Harry Hamster mix that Wagg is suitable also. It has a lot of variety and gives your Hamster everything they need. Good luck in finding everything you need Hope i helped! xx

IMO Wagg is terrible. It's aimed at hamsters, mice and gerbils, which all have slightly different nutritional needs, so you don't know which animal it is actually best for, and it contains "syrup"...which to me says refined sugar.

sorry..misread!!!

I agree wagg is not good. My wilkos had no harry hamster so if im swaping my lot onto it im gonna be paying £1.85 a bag. Im mixing it with p@h museli atm to get through it quicker.

its easy to gradually introduce a new food..although with my lot i misjudged what i had left and they had to swap staright over..luckily they have all been fine

Just thought I'd better update this thread.

I think I'm sticking with the Bunny Nature hamster mix for now, as I tried Boris with a bit of Harry Hamster and he wasn't keen. He seems to prefer what he's on already, so I'll stick with it for now.
