Default Thin hamster

Hi everyone hope you and your hammies are happy and ok?

I posting as most of you know i have three dwarf hamsters which both are a normal weight and just need monitoring to check there not getting to big.

One of my girls Phileas has always been smaller but she seems to have got smaller recently and im abit worried about her. Shes very happy in herself, no diarrhoea etc but compared to my other two a fussy eater. Seems to just eat the flakes in her mix (they all do but her more so) and on the odd occasion she trys to eat the pellets she tends to just crumble them.

What do you guys suggest? ive read many suggestions but would like to know what you think? I can feel some of her bones really bad and worried about her keeping warm although ive put extra bedding in her house

Many thanks

Try feeding her some cooked chicken, Scrambled egg or Porridge to fatten her up a bit.

Hope she is ok

Only a little bit (about a teaspoon) it can be warm if you want but cold is fine too

It can cause diorreah if you feed to much to often though.

Check the hamsters teeth as if it cannot manage to chew anything but the flakes the teeth may have overgrown or be misaligned so that one or more may not be worn down evenly. On the bright side this may not be the problem so it would be advisable to check just in case, speaking from personal experience...

Update

Thanks for all your replies

Pouchy: When she was a baby she had sore gums which vet put down to possibly fighting with her sister (they are now separate) or an infection. In fact before you posted I had just taken her to the vet as she was trying her best to eat but going no where really fast. They have diagnosed her with inflamed gums likely down to an infection and have given her baytrol to syringe feed her.

She is an absolute nightmare to scruff goes mental wriggling and so I do check her teeth but less so with her as it distresses her hugely and there fine.

Im feeding her bits of bread and are going to try the other foods later on.

Also I'm half way through changing her feed from pets @ home to harry hamster as i heard it contained more protein and im pleased to inform everyone she looks like shes starting to put on weight although I know she can lose her weight that she has gained very easily so I think its going to be a constant challenge that im willing to face
