Default Spiders make great nomming!

Many members will know that in the past few weeks the weather in the UK has been getting hotter and hotter.

This raises issues in keeping our pets warm as we have means to keep our houses warm in the winter, but no air con like hot countries in the summer.

Tyrion has been living in my hammy room (or what once was) upstairs but the heat is too much up there so I moved him into my utility room downstairs.

The back door is open so it lets a breeze in and ive made the best barricade I can for the cats that try wander in

He seems far happier but today when I went to give him a snuggle I noticed he has something in his mouth.

Horrified it was an injury, I scruffed the little dude, and pulled out a mangled giant house spider!!!

I quickly unscruffed and he pouched it back up giving me the dirtiest of looks!

Not much I can do living in an old house and if I put him on the work top he'd bake when the sun comes in.

So guess i'll be cutting down his treats while this weather continues lol

Errr pretty sure i would've freaked out if that was me, but as we feed live crickets to ours.... Nope i would've put the little guy back in his cage and then run away screaming. *think of the protein, still nope

There isnt loads that scare me but spiders and big dogs do it

Hahahaha this made me laugh loads...

Hopefully my two are good spider catchers as my labrador, Zak is petrified of them so he's no use

Rodents make good spider hunters! I remember sitting on my bedroom floor while my gerbils did their daily run about and I looked over to see what Barney was up to and there he was, racing after a large spider, managed to catch it and sat their removing it`s legs one by one! By the time he put it down, it was a beetle!!!! Good protein though!

LOLOL If my hamster did that, I'd consider her a hero as I am terrified of spiders

I have to get my boyfriend to kill for me even the tiniest spider, they terrify me and make me scream like the little girl i am

I've noticed that I have hardly any spiders now I have a lot of hamsters! I did find Copper hunting down a fly that had got into his bin cage. Unfortunately Copper doesn't have wings so wasn't doing very well at it, so I had to let the fly out before Copper got too frustrated.
