Are oats and wheat foods okay to give to a diabetic hamster? I read on a few sites that you shouldn't feed them oats, pastas, or any sort of wheat foods. Then from a lot of other sites, it says to give them whole grain rice, wheat pasta, wheatgerm, whole grains, etc.
How many sunflower seeds/pumpkin seeds/flaxseeds/lentils/soybeans are okay to give at a time and how often can they have them?
What amount of veggies should be given daily? Since too many greens can cause an upset stomach, what amount (of greens) is best to give daily (or should it be every other day)?
I read somewhere that for diabetic hamsters you should increase their veggie intake gradually to where it's 50% of their food intake?

This is referring to my hamster who has recently been diagnosed with diabetes.
She has high glucose levels in her urine, but no ketones. ((NO KETONES, HIGH GLUCOSE: Plain water (no Pedialyte), and absolutely NO SUGAR (dextrose, maltose, corn etc). High protein, low fat, high fiber diet.))
I've been giving her about 10 fenugreek seeds a day for the past 4 days. One of the users on here long ago wrote a reply to someone about a fenugreek tea that she gave to her hamsters (can be seen in this post:
COOP Bran flakes for diabetic dwarfies) and gave the recipe. Should I make that for my hamster?
