What a beautiful little hamster. I think the white really suits her and makes her look a bit rounder.

It's really interesting how she went underground for a month and reappeared a changed woman. Different look and new attitude of " i do love this human afterall".

Cupcake was definitely scared of something today, she was hiding a good bit. Fortunately she really likes me making kissy noises now, and came out for a treat.

She pouched and went back to her nest to eat them. Hopefully she's not so spooked in the morning.

Cupcake Scared?

Aww, what a lovely video of Cupcake! She gave your hand a good sniffing first to make sure it was you.

It's so great to have her come around <3 She's definitely hand tamed, I don't get bites anymore. Cupcake is doing a bit more hiding and sleeping in, maybe with the coat change she also has less energy?

She did climb on my arm a bit late last night, if she wants out of bin time today she's getting it. Maybe she's a bit bored too, I'm going to make her a puzzle ball and forage board to give her more to do. Plus it's something we can sort of interact with together, I can reload it with tiny bits of treats to keep her busy and watch her solve it

We had a short out of bin adventure! I've been reluctant just with how long she's been hiding. But she got up early, kept pawing, at me and gave the tiniest little nip to communicate it beyond a doubt. Such a polite way to do it! She went right into the hamster taxi and we had 2 minutes of snuggles on the bed.

I also had a bag of sunflower & pumpkin seeds in one hand, she went over and pawed at it until I gave her one. A pretty short adventure, but a good interaction. In true Cupcake fashion, she rolled in the sand bath immediately upon returning to her bin.

I wonder how she'd react if you'd keep the seeds in a little jar. We gave our late dwarf Edwina the jar as an activity at playtime now and again. She rolled it about. Of course, we soon opened the jar so she could get some seeds out before putting it away.

Take this suggestion with caution though. If you'd want to try it, Cupcake may take offence and not speak to you for the rest of the year.
