Yes, and now he transfered to his wooden house, at least he has a choice, he comes out during the day to get all the toilet paper and stuff it...

So tonight he stood on my hand when i fed him, it was great! I think he is only scared of being picked up. I took him to the bathtub today and we had a great time. He started climbing all over me and over my hands. When i tried to pick him up with hands he started jumping away, so thats something i can work on in the bathtub, hehe... BTW the bathtub tip is the best one!

Yay that's good! The picking up bit generally is the worst part. After a while hopefully he'll learn to just walk onto your hand so you don't have too.

yeah...same with my hammies. they never were scared of hands coz they never had a bad experience. but they are scared when you try to pick them up...probably an instinct in them. but yay...you are making good progress

I think he is scared because they picked him up in the pet shop without any love or attention. He probably wasnt handled enough. So today was really a progress! The bathtub saga continues: he climbed on my shoulders and then on my head! I was scared he would jump off, but he went back on my neck or climbed on my hands that i offered to him. It was adrenaline for both of us i think!
Also he went a little into the hamster ball. I think he has better sight than Sheldon had, because he was moving in it way better! Ill see how much he will use it.
I picked him up mainly from beneath, with my hands cupped, and i did the "tunnel" with my hands with him a few times for a minute or so. Now only to repeat and repeat until he gets the point. Now he is in his favorite corner cleaning himself ... no, wait, he is sleeping. He is such a character, sleeping out of his house already.

So Spock is now a little bigger, finally growing up. In the middle of month ill get a scale to be able to measure him regularly and monitor any weight gain or loss. Im a little panicky about that after Sheldon lost so much weight and i still wasnt sure even when my eyes told me its true.
Anyway, today was a special occasion, he peed on me. I think it was a late revenge for me trying to cut his nails earlier this day. They are long and moon shaped, but he doesnt want to stay still in hand. No way. No way even when distracting him with food, it simply doesnt work.
I decided to monitor his feet and to take him to the vet to try to cut his nails if anything seems wrong with them. Otherwise i will just leave him alone. He doesnt seem to mind. Maybe in a month when the weather gets really good enough i can take him anyway for a check up, i dont want to stress him now when he is not yet fully tamed and the weather is rainy. Nails will just have to wait.

I used to panic a lot about nails with Sheldon but then i saw a few hamsters of a breeder here and i realized i was exaggerating, they can have a little long nails without problem. Its just me.

Anyway Spock is not so scared of being picked up anymore! I usually manage to do it without him chasing around like crazy. He even stays still for two seconds before trying to squirm his way out. Handling him in a bathtub is the best idea ever. He loves exploring and he cant get away... or fall... i love it. We do it almost every day.

Or even rocks to walk over will file them a tad
