As mentioned before, Gertie pees in a substrate lined hyacinth tube behind her wheel which i replace from time to time. For that reason i always keep a couple of spares in a basket.
Gertie has just discovered one and by the look on her face she's wondering what her toilet is doing in there!

Ha! Gertie just came to her door, all friendly with her paws on the ledge and air sniffing, so i lifted her out and sat her down on my lap, just for Gertie to turn around and climb straight back into her cage with her nose pointing up sniffing!
I suppose it was a case of mistaken idendity. Turned out that i'm not the romaine lettuce she was after.

It was Gertie's birthday today. She's 1.
Gertie received a banana chip as a present.
I don't normally give dwarfs anything sweet but made an exeption today. She had a nibble but definitely prefers a savoury mealworms.
