Re: Meet Russell the sapphire winter white!
Hello! Congratulations on Russell! I’m very glad you adopted! Those photos of him on his wheel are to cute! He is very handsome and seems to be photogenic! What a great ham you’ve got there! Looking forward to hearing more about his adventures wth you!
If you rescued him, he is a hybrid (the chances of him being a pure WW are very unlikely). We usely categorize the hybrid under WW or Campbell’s. For example, we’ll just categorized Russell under WW as his coloring will put him there. For example, if there was a hybrid who has red eyes and Mabel a fawn coat, we would categorize it under Campbell’s because they usely have red eyes. Sorry if you already are aware of this!

Re: Meet Russell the sapphire winter white!
Congrats on adopting Russell, he really is a very handsome little man!
He will be a hybrid, they can look more like either species but all the ones n pet shops or rescues are hybrids, it's very unlikely that a breeder ham would be up for adoption.

Re: Meet Russell the sapphire winter white!
He looks mostly winter white to me, as he has the eyes, personality and markings (e.g ticking in white fur and coat has fine hairs). Also he doesn't have the puffy Campbell's nose and ears. He seems quite round too like WW.
I used to have hybrids from 'breeders' and I would avoid them now, as one of them was diabetic and another had to have an operation as he was ill from young. It's a shame that people breed the two species together, although I would say it's impossible to even find pure bred winter whites in the UK. I've seen 'breeders' breeding hybrids unknowingly, it drives me crazy!
Well aware of the hybrid situation but thanks for letting me know anyway.
