Name suggestions
I recently got my little winter white Russian dwarf hamster, and he's so cute! I'm having trouble thinking of a name though, any suggestions?

Re: Name suggestions
He's gorgeous!
How about Bertie, Hector, Alvin or Alfie?

Re: Name suggestions
He's very cute! Congratulations .
I love the name Pebble and I think it would suit him well.

He's doing really well. When I got him they said he had a respiratory problem when he came in, but they gave him antibiotics and it didn't clear, so they think it's something similar to asthma. However, due to him having treatment he's tame and used to being handled, so he's being a very easy first dwarf for me (I've had 7 Syrians and my sister has had 3, but we've never had a dwarf). He seems to be settling in well, and my current Syrian doesn't mind him being around in the same room, and hopefully I'll be able to build him a cage in a week or a couple of weeks' time.

Re: Name suggestions
He is lovely, congrats!
Good to hear he's settling in well, I've found most Russians are easy to tame & can be very cuddly little things
I'm hopeless with naming other people's hams, I always find they name themselves once you get to know them!

Re: Name suggestions
If you are really stuck for a name you could get a laugh out of using a random name generator online and just going with the first thing it spits out.

Re: Name suggestions
Hi everyone,
Thank you for all your suggestions, there were some really great ones! Alfie, Skye, Alpine and Pebble will definitely be on my list for future hamster names. I did also use a name generator, and it came back with Vester, so I decided against that. However, none of the names really suited him, and, unlike my previous hamsters, there were no names floating around in my head. So I decided to let him name himself! I wrote the alphabet in a line and put a mealworm on each letter, and he decided to call himself yet. (Best hamster name ever. ) So I turned the name around and he is now called Tey. And I think it suits him, and he chose it, so all is good.

Re: Name suggestions
I love how he has a funny little story behind his name ! It suits him, though and is very unique.
Hope he is settling in well !
