Re: Larry-Jasper's thread
Good that he didn't need a nail trim. Some hams nails grow like crazy where other don't need it at all.

Re: Larry-Jasper's thread
What a good boy Larry-Jasper is for not getting stressed, he must've sensed he would be rewarded lol!

Re: Larry-Jasper's thread
Larry-Jasper moved back from my Mum's to my Dad's tonight. He seems very chilled about the move. We've got the show in the morning, so we have to be up early.

Glad LJ wasn't too stressed by his first vet trip & I'm sure he enjoyed the sunflower seeds to make up for it!

Ok thanks I will do tonight. I assume I can just use plain water and a cotton bud or would salt water work better? Yep, he loves his seeds. He will do anything for a sunflower seed lol .

Yep! I'd rather he didn't need it, but at least I know I have a good vet to rely on and that Jasper copes well at the vets now . Some nails truly grow ridiculously fast (AKA Oreo's nails, who are very curled and dark brown) and some grow slowly, like most Syrians.

Yep! I'm glad he's so well behaved . He is certainly a clever little ham.

Re: Larry-Jasper's thread
Plain water is fine for bathing the scent gland chesca, if they get badly infected or blocked saline may be better but in most cases just water is sufficient to clean it.

Re: Larry-Jasper's thread
I will update how Larry-Jasper did, but until then, I will recommend checking the Chacombe show thread.
P.S. He did well !

Ok thanks Cypher ! I did try it but Larry-Jasper wasn't having it and kept fidgeting. I think it's more dirty than infected but I will try again and some point.
