Can anybody please recommend where I can buy male Winter White Russian Hamsters - my 9 year son so wants one and the local pet stores do not stock them and it is driving me barmy!!
Any advice on breeders or stores/breeders in the West Midlands, Black Country area would be most helpful.
You won't get true winter whites in a pet shop, the closest you'll get will be Russian hybrids. If you can wait a bit, the next midland show is in Great Alne at the end of May, I'm not sure exactly how far that would be for you but there may be WWs on sales there? Otherwise I'd get in touch with the midland hamster club and ask for a list of breeders? I think you can email [email protected]
Where abouts are you jamster? I know of a couple of WW breeders and they attend the shows frequently. I think that one of the two I have in mind has some available, although I know she was taking them to Hereford hamster show last week, so perhaps she doesn't have any now.
I am based in the Dudley, Midlands area and since the post I have been put in contact with a local Hamster breeder who may have what we are looking for.
It seems that my quest to find the elusive WW may soon be over, but if not I will be back on this board for more help!!
That's great, I am glad that you might have found a WW. One of the breeders I had in mind is in/around Birmingham, so let me know if the contact you have doesn't work out.
