Re: Wheel too small?
I finally found a 6.5" Silent Spinner and bought it But my problem is: my hamster doesn't seem to have enough strength to run on it. I don't if it's because she only tried it once and maybe at night she'll try again and manage to use it, but has anyone had this problem? Thanks! She's a dwarf hamster, not sure but I think she's a winter white.

Re: Wheel too small?
How's your ham doing with the new wheel now? The new silent spinners can be really hard to spin, if it seems stiff when you give it a spin with your hand it's probably the wheel not working properly, I have the old silent spinners & they are really easy to move for all my dwarf hams.
If it's not working then you might do better returning it & trying a different wheel like the 8" Karlie or flying saucer depending on what you can get where you are.

Re: Wheel too small?
I should take it back if it's not spinning freely - there have been a few problems with these. Do you still have the receipt? Hams need to run on their wheels as they need a lot of exercise so I'd get the 8" Wonderland, Trixie or Wodent wheel maybe. They all run well!

Re: Wheel too small?
Yes, I still have the receipt. I bought it online, though the the website I bought it from is of a petshop near my house. I'll probably take it back to the store and compare with other silent spinners. Thanks guys.

Re: Wheel too small?
Thanks guys! But I live in Brazil, so buying these things from Amazon result in a huge shipping price +taxes to the customs when it gets here :/ I'll try taking it back to the store tomorrow.

Lol! You're right Nancy - looks like Arwen is having the same issue though.

Oi! Tudo bem? (I used to share a flat with some Brazilians and learned a few phrases!)
Sorry - no Amazon don't seem to sell hamster wheels in Brazil on Amazon.br. I think your best bet then is as you say - try them out in the shop and see if you can find one that spins better - I think it is a current manufacturing issue though. Any wheel between 6.5" and 8" should be fine as long as it is solid plastic and no rungs or mesh (hammy feet can get caught in those). They might have the 8" comfort wheel in stock or something similar, which would run better (although probably not silent). An 8" wheel would be fine - it is only Silent Spinners that make a smaller 6.5" wheel.
Just adding the link to show you what the comfort wheel looks like. It can attach to the cage or be used on a stand.

Tchau!
