Winter White Hamster in the Dark?

Hey guys, I've recently got a new hamster (been with me for almost 3 days) and he's lightening up a bit to me. He's more friendly and I am able to see him more frequently playing with his toys in the cage while I'm in the room. My hamster cage is in my bedroom and remains there when I go to bed. I have a couple of questions:
#1) Does the dark affect the hamster? As in, like it's pitch black when I go to bed, is that okay?
#2) When the hamster actually sleeps, I've noticed he goes inside his small house BUT I'm in my room and its not really quite and the lights are on. Am I affecting his sleep? Or is it completely normal for them to sleep in busy environments (sounds + light)?

If someone can assist me with what I should be doing, it would mean a lot! Thanks!!

Hamsters have bad eyesight, and get around mostly by smell. This, plus the fact that they're naturally nocturnal means that they don't mind the dark. In fact, both of my hamsters strongly prefer the dark, and will often wait until I turn off the lights to come out for the night. And my room is completely dark when I turn the light off

Lights and noises during the daytime are usually okay, as long as they're not too crazy hamsters are usually happy to sleep through regular daytime noises, and if they sleep in a house or tunnel, the light shouldn't bother them either.
