Lynka
Ive had Lynka for a little more than a week now and when I got her I was told that she is a Djungarian also known as a Russian Winter White. I'm confused because those seem to be two closely related hamster species. I am new to hamsters and am not too knowledgable about species and was wondering if anyone could provide info on which she is. She has a pattern that looks more like a Djungarian to me but I'm not sure. I'm guessing maybe she's a hybrid of both.
Thanks! I tried to get a good pic of her pattern but she's super fast.

Re: Lynka
shell be a hybrid! a mix between a campbells and a winter white!any ww or rc you get in a pet shop will almost certainly be a hybrid. unless you have papers from the breeder saying its pure than its hybrid!pures are now very rare

Re: Lynka
She certainly has WW markings but, as squishyhammy says, you need the 'birth certificate' from the breeder to be sure.

Re: Lynka
Yea, I agree with the others, she is most likely to be a hybrid. It is quite hard to come across pur WW these days!! She is lovely!!

Re: Lynka
Thank you! Maybe that's what they were trying to say and I misunderstood. Here's another pic of her when I first was bringing her home. She's my first dwarf and soo tiny.

Re: Lynka
She is such a little cutie! I'm on board with the rest of them though, definitely looks like a sweet little hybrid.

Re: Lynka
Looks like a winter white to me but, as the others say, if you haven't got papers you have to assume it's a hybrid really. Did you get it from a pet shop?
I think that Djungarian is just another name for Winter White.
She's absolutely stunning whatever she is!

Re: Lynka
Yeah I am guessing that she is a hybrid after all. I got her at Petco, I dont know if they are only in the US but its a large commercial pet store.
Thanks everyone for their hamstertise
