Re: Thinking about getting two Winter Whites
Hi again,
I just wanted to ressurect this thread for two reasons.
1) Are there any WW breeders in Cheshire?
2) What do I do with my wooden toys?
Thanks all!

Re: Thinking about getting two Winter Whites
Can't answer number 1 for you I'm afraid.
I've found soaking the toys in soapy water for 5 mintues then leaving them outside to dry leaves them clean. I did that with some of Snickers' toys so I could give them to my other lot.

I am so impatient!
I am definitely interested. Please let me know when you're ready to breed.

I'm rather impatient to get started too, but I need to be fully prepared before I do. I can assure you it will be quite soon though

Might be slightly further from you when I actually start, mother's looking at getting a new place (still in London!). Can't really complain - more/bigger rooms and a garden = more breeding space

Re: Thinking about getting two Winter Whites
What a relief! I found a breeder in Cheshire but it's apparently too far away from Chester. You are my last hope!
I'm having such a hard time finding WW breeders. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid and/or wrong. Does anybody know of any in the Essex area?
Oh and thank you for your suggestion Snickers. Does this work with Trixie toys? Does the water not rot it? Or do I need to dry them in a hot place, like near the boiler, to make sure this doesn't happen

Re: Thinking about getting two Winter Whites
The only one I know of is tuftyfluff in borehamwood. It's quite far out from london, but with a train etc you could get there maybe.. although I think you're pretty much as far away from there as you can get without leaving london..
Actually, if you're north of the river, you're not as far away as I thought..

Re: Thinking about getting two Winter Whites
I think I know of someone in the Manchester region who breeds WWs? I'm not sure how regular she breeds.

I'm still interested in WW if you're going to breed them. Should be moving to Leyton/Stratford area in about Sept, so maybe you could have some ready by then
I can't wait to move and get my little dwarfies!! I can't believe how many people on here are from east London. It's quite frustrating that there are so many people in London but no 'decent' breeders... But we'll have Genevieve soon so all will be well

I would say it depends on how long it has been since they have been used. If it's a while the scent might not be on there as much any more.
I'm not sure about cleaning wood but maybe it might not matter too much about the scent. I have transferred toys between hams and have never noticed problems... (I apologise in advance if doin this is wrong but I'm just giving my honest opinion as I've never had an problems :S )

The ones I actually did this with were Trixie, yeah just a quick soak then I left the out in the garden to dry. (on a sunny day!)
They were all fine. I was worried about it rotting but it was worth a try.
Forgot to ask, why did you want to clean them?

Re: Thinking about getting two Winter Whites
GOSH more people moving down to our end of the woods, literally in my case. Genevieve it sounds like you're in quite high demand for WWs and you've not even started breeding yet!!!
