Could you help me indentifying my hams as well? I haven't been able to take any face-on pictures, because my hamsters are camera-shy, but here are the very few pictures I have in good lighting:

I was told they are Winter Whites when I bought them. I looked at my pictures and the pictures listed here for reference, and it's a bit hard to tell. My hams often flaten out when they lie down (when I take pictures).

Also, should they change their color patterns when they get older, or would they continue staying pure white with a dark spot between their ears?

Thanks for posting that link to the website about telling the difference between a winter white and hybrid. It's interesting that it's the first time I've seen a comparison between a hybrid and the pure breed, as you really can't realise it without seeing a hybrid.

I was wondering if you could tell me whether you think my hamster rolo is a hybrid or winter white, I'm convinced he's winter white and if not pure breed mainly of that breed. I used the guide but I'm still not totally sure.

There are pictures in my thread: Rolo

and here's some showing his body and side profile:

oops forgot this one. Btw, you may notice my hands and nails have paint on them.. I do wash them it's just that I'm an artist and I get a bit messy lol. Didn't want to worry or disgust anyone, so thought I'd say.

My guess is WinterWhite, but I'm a little confused because of the ears XDD Normally they have to be really round...
I made a thread in english for better understanding too XD
Identifying features of hybrids

Thanks, yeah that's exactly what was confusing me!! His ears don't seem totally round, but in some pictures they do look kinda round and they are very small. It doesn't help that he's not very chubby, as I've noticed a lot of these winter white hamsters are very rounded looking lol. But he does have the winter white body shape. I don't think the ears look like campbells ears though because theirs tend to be huge and stick out as far as I know.

Ah well if he's not pure winter white, he's in a very convincing disguise lol.

I saw your thread, it's really good! That's what I was talking about when I said before about it being good to compare a hybrid to a pure breed, as I think that's where people get a bit stuck as when they look kind of like them they assume it's one rather than both.

Anyway I'm rambling on. Thanks for taking a look at him!
