Robo science
I was reading a very interesting paper on robo hamsters. Rachels got hamsters blog had a link to it. I thought I would link it just in case anybody else would like to read it. It has helped me to understand Orko more.

Re: Robo science
Interesting. And apparently they eat beetles! Off to find a beetle ... I saw one the other day in the kitchen.

Lol. I found it interesting they are not awake as much as dwarf hamsters.

Re: Robo science
Yes it was interesting they said that, as in domestic situations, robos are the ones known for coming out during the day sometimes and more often than other hamsters. I think it said it was the heat that made them stay underground more in the wild. In a nice cosy house, not too hot, not too cold, maybe they naturally come out more.
Our first robo was always out in the afternoon and sometimes in the day. Pip isn't but he is out in the morning sometimes.

Re: Robo science
I've always wanted to see footage of Winter Whites in the wild. Some of the documentaries on Robo colonies are adorable

I wondered if that explained why Orko never comes out in the day. Interesting your robos have always come out in the day though.

I have never seen any documentaries on hamsters. I would love to see one.

There's one on wild European hamsters, the big black bellied ones. It was part of a nature programme but not The Blue Planet. We talked about it on here but i have forgotten the name of the programme. Somebody may remember and i'm going to try and find it. It was short but brilliant.
Thank you for this very interesting article on Robos.
