Re: Little Pico
You could section the detolf off for now and increase its floorspace gradually as you fill it up.
Cardboard boxes and tubes are very useful and so are flower pots, 99p oil burners, charity shop finds, glass jars, mugs and allsorts.
I'd also check sites like Gumtree where people sell hamster items cheaply.
Your doctor should be able to treat your low iron level with medication and hopefully you will feel a lot better soon.

Re: Little Pico
Yes, I am talking with a doctor. Issue is I've been anaemic for over a decade, so I've been prescribed iron for quite some time. They've tripled the amount of iron I am meant to take and given me other things to help absorb it. I think now it's just blatantly worse, so the doctors are all a bit stumped on why I can't get better.
I will check out all those things you mentioned, thanks.

Re: Little Pico
Hi, everyone.
Some sad news, I suppose. Pico has begun to demonstrate his old spinning behaviours again. At the time, nothing was new inside or outside his cage. It seemed to of just begun randomly again.
However, this time it was joined with bar climbing. I believe his stress could be coming from the size of the cage he was brought to me in.
Despite talking on here about whether it would be the right move to move him into a bigger cage, I think it's the only way to rule out if cage-size is something that is causing this behaviour. His old cage will still be here, so I am sure I can just move him back if all that space is stressful. He won't be going into it until it is packed with stuff anyway, which might take me some time now that I am without work.

Re: Little Pico
I am sorry this is happening. Even more difficult with you being out of work. I wonder if there are any larger Ikea wardrobes for sale second hand you could find.

Re: Little Pico
Sorry to hear about your iron levels. I've been there before an it's not fun.
Hope you feel better soon,
As for filling a detolf for cheap or free I suggest recycling. I have a whole playlist on my youtube channel which might give you some ideas.
Using Recycling - YouTube
My other top tip is get some jute or sisal string, approx a £1 or £2 from garden centres/wilkos and you can make so many hanging boredom breakers with that.
