Aww, he's busy munching on that stick. Will be interesting to watch the overnight video tomorrow with him exploring the Plaza.
I must check the Robo's feet. Maybe they are all hairy but some look white and others pinkish so i thought they were bare. My eyesight is getting worse.
Well he's out (after lights out). About 11pm I came into the room from the kitchen and thought I saw him on the wheel but then he wasn't there. Must have heard me. Since 11.30 and lights out he is all over the place. Clearly an experienced wheeler (no flying off it), been up the ladder, found all the treats and food and sand bath, been in the sand bath, been on the shelves at the other side and through the tunnel. He's so fast I couldn't quite work how he got from one place to another!
All watched on the webcam thingy from upstairs. He seems to be enjoying the cage anyway!
Hello Pip, love the photos and glimpses of him in the video.
If he was active and exploring last night then it looks as though all will be well.
Lucky little Pip in a loving home.
So here are a couple of nightcam clips. The second one is very short and shows Pip discovering the shelves on the right hand side of the cage (where there were treats to find).
The first one is a bit longer - he uses the wheel and sandbath - explores the bars a bit, has a snack on a chew on the main shelf.
There's also a bit of a view of Pickle's cage below and about 2.12 on the video Pickle comes out and zips up his tunnel into his Sputnik then back down the tunnel and starts running in his wheel as well
I've just put the links rather than embed the videos because the embedded window is so small you wouldn't see Pip - he's tiny! Better watched on the larger view!
Eek! Decided to scan through the rest of the night’s video to see what he did. Around 1.15am he must have gone back to bed for a bit then up again around an hour later. More of the same thing - wheel, ladder sand bath. But a bit slower and more exploring this timeZ. Like most hamsters in a new cage he checked it out thoroughly, looking to see if there was a way out - behind the sand bath - checked every side and corner of the cage.
Then - saw him on top of the tube! The one on the right leading between two shelves. Walking back and forwards on in it like it was a tightrope. Clearly wanted to see if there was a way out above the tube.
Then jumped off! That was quite a high jump. Good job the house roof has hemp mat on it. After that just more of the same - sitting, exploring, wheeling- Until about 6.45am
Think I might need to tweak the area round the tube - although maybe he won’t do that again now he knows there’s no escape route above it.
