Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
I think that he'll get over it. They do react to each other or a new smell but it's impossible to anticipate which way it's going to go.

Any update on Pip? Curious to hear how he's doing since he's become aware of Raffy!

Nope - not a peep from him. I know he's ok because his veg has gone in the morning.

Aw, I was hoping you'd get to go back to taming him by now. So glad to hear he's eating and healthy though, fingers crossed he comes out when you're up soon

Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
Pip's out! Just appeared tonight. I think they both knew it was my birthday lol (it was just after midnight). They were both out in their cages talking to me. Either that or it's the exact 2 week point when Raffy has settled into his cage (and maybe it's taken Pip two weeks to get used to the major change too).
Anyway Pip did a bit of hide and seek. Sat and chatted for a bit. Ran up his ladder and sat and looked at me at the bars. So he seems back to normal. The little sit on his shelf next to the bars was a bit like - I'm still upset that you got another hamster - what was wrong with having an only child - me. And part like - hello again I've missed you.
Anyway they both got a bit of porridge on a teaspoon and were both out in their cages, hence it was like we had a little party together before I went to bed. Which I am grateful for - a nice moment after a bit of a stressful day.

It really does seem like they can sense moods, what a lovely surprise!
Happy birthday Serendipity, and here's to a great year together with little Pip.

Re: Say hello to Pip (Aka Pipkin)
Tonight I had the perfect opportunity to get Pip out in his Pip trap pod thing. He was sitting on his log in front of his wheel. I didn't see him as he looked camouflaged against it! And went to put a treat on the log. He sat there for a moment and didn't run away, but then shot down the tube into the plastic pod. All I needed to do was put my hand over the tube and lift him out. Unfortunately I couldn't as nowhere to put him - Raffy was in the playpen. I'm not sure they should share that playpen (separately) anyway - it's wood so bound to pick up scent (and Raffy rubs up and scent marks it). So might need to construct some kind of second smaller playpen for taming Pip. Where I would put that I have no idea!
