Great news. He'll gain confidence more and more. Sounds positive when you lifted the house roof off. When I did that our robo used to bolt and run away!

Yes that was a 1 and done day haven’t seen him since haha but that’s ok he’s still very young I can tell hopefully when he gets older he will gain more confidence I’m really ok not seeing them as long as they have a wonderful life and are happy. He has still been using the whole cage throughout the night so that’s great I can tell cuz of bedding in certain places and footprints in the sand so that’s great that he’s comfortable with the whole huge cage now lol. I’m sure he will come out one day soon. I can tell he listens to me tho cuz when I make kissy noises or talk to him I can hear him start to move around where ever he is lol my long haired Syrian was and still is a very timid hamster hates being held he will jump so I don’t hold him just cuz I know he doesn’t like it. But when he hears me take the lid off the cage he sticks his nose out his house looking at me cuz he knows food or treats have arrived haha and he will take them out my hand no problem it took a very long time to get to that point even. It’s so funny tho cuz after he finishes eating what I hand him he looks at me and stretches real high looking for my hand haha I love it. My robo will get there one day I never give up lol but if he doesn’t that’s ok too

I understand u might think it’s not satisfying cleaning up and feeding a animal that U don’t see but that’s kinda the deal U agree to when getting one I know it’s frustrating but as long as the hamster lives a happy and healthy life that’s all I can really ask for. Do get frustrated just give it time my Syrian took a year to get used to me he comes out all the time now when he hears me it depends on the hamster. It’s a waiting game lol

GiGi, it's getting better. And every time I see his cuteness I don't care so much anyway and just want to have him there safe in his home.

Yes exactly! As long as I know I saved some hamsters from the pet store or possibly a owner that wouldnt give them proper care then that makes me happy! I can’t save them all even tho I would love to it’s not reality. Our hamsters are loved and safe and given proper care so that’s great! I actually just left the pet store and saw a whole bunch of hamsters in there and I was literally about to buy them all lol. They had one just like my hamster that recently passed except instead of him being all black he was black and white and I fell in love I was literally about to take him home but I know I couldn’t I don’t have the space and I don’t have another 75 gallon tank I have a 40 breeder but I feel like that’s too small for A Syrian in my opinion. But since my last post I haven’t seen my robo at all haha. He’s so freakin cute I wish he would come out. I did send in a application to adopt a hamster from a ethical breeder that is in a state close to me it’s a very long process and the waiting list is close to a year so that will give me plenty of time to get ready I want to build it a huge cage just because ethical bread hamsters tend to be way bigger so I feel a 75 galling won’t cut it. I’m super exiting for that journey.
