Default My Robo, SeokHoon love his cage...

My first Robo...
I name him, SeokHoon..

I realize something this morning!
I think he love his cage because he never try to escape his cage!
Not even scratch the wall nor the corner. He live happily in his "not too big" cage on his own....

Hiis cage size is only 1800m² and he is alone. Is he really olay to be alone??
What should I do if I decide to add one or two more same sex robo?

Sholud i change the cage to a bigger one??

Hi, He will be 100% ok on his own, I certainly would not be adding any hamsters to his cage, they will most certainly fight possibly kill each other, especially as they will not be from the same litter.

I'm not sure about the cage size, i'm being mighty thick this morning and can't visualise your measurement, how long is it, by how wide is it?

Am I being thick, do you really mean 1800m2? That would be something like 18m x 100m wouldn't it?????

Then i wont be adding any hamster then..
I read that dwarf must be live in group thats why i am considering adding his friend lol.. if its okay living on his own then i wont adding any more hamster..

The cage size is 60cm long and 30cm wide...
I am using full glass aquarium, it used to be my baby predator tank...

yes, some people do think that re dwarfs, but it is also considered highly risky especially if they are not form the same litter. Your little guy will be very happy on his own.

ahh you meant 1800sqcm - I am with you now.. That is on the small size as robos do love to zoom around, but if he is not showing any signs of stress, see how he gets on. In the future you may need to upgrade to something like 80 x50cm or more, if you can and he seems to be needing it. I would say the main thing is that you have lots of hides and tunnels for him to feel safe in and a sand bath.

Hope that helps.

The only hamsters that can live in pairs are groups are sibling dwarf hamsters who have grown up together. Introducing another hamster is too risky- even a sibling. Even then they invariably need separating when their hormnes kick in as they grow up as they can start fighting and kill and maim each other. They do absolutely fine living along and will bond with their human Much safer.

60 x 30 is a bit small for a Robo. It may be fine to begin with while he's settling in but you might want to think about upgrading. With a bigger area you can add more enrichment to make his life interesting - eg more tunnels and floor toys etc, a shelf or platform, a large underground house - that kind of thing. But if he is happy for now then that sounds good. They can take at least 2 weeks to settle into a cage.

Hello,

Just confirming what has been said above: please do not try to pair him up with any hamster, and consider an upgrade. Some 2nd hand tanks can be cheap. Enjoy your little one!
