I have a long jug, put a mealworm in it, in goes the robo, carry to the scales weigh the robo and jug, then take away the weight of the jug on it's own.
I have my hand across the top just in case, but it is a pretty long jug.

Just to make you aware that Robos can jump unexpectedly high which i found out when Gordon leapt up into the air, thankfully while still hovering above his tank so you're wise to cover it.

Re: Introducing Comet
I'd have to double check but I think robos are actually capable of jumping 2 feet in the air. Definitely be careful transporting and such as they are extremely good escape artists!
For US owners, Walmart should sell a carrier that would be great for the purpose of weighing as well as transporting robos or really any hamster species.

I know similar things would be available in the UK from different brands. While some people may prefer other carrier styles for hamsters, it is still a good option especially in the US since it is so much easier to find in my experience.
Weighing and transporting hamsters in secure containers is much safer than using open containers and such. Not everyone is going to have a disaster happen after doing so, but taking precautions when serious injury risks and escape risks for example are present is a very good idea for anyone involved!

Re: Introducing Comet
Thanks Ria
Wouldn't surprise me Amityville. He can reach things quite high up in his cage.
The jug is actually slippy so he can't get traction on it. I could always use a small travel carrier that I have ready for emergency evacuations

Re: Introducing Comet
Comets video is up on Youtube of what he got up to in his first few days settling in.
You get to see some babyrobo pics to which I don't think I shared on here.
He is getting so tame re his food, I might have to do a little video on that. He has had a little nibble at my fingers but didn't hurt.

Re: Introducing Comet
It always amazes me how fast Robos run. His legs are blurry because they're moving so fast!

Re: Introducing Comet
What an amazing video of beautiful little comet!
I don't think many people manage to capture a robo on camera like you do.
He's a little cutie. What do you call his colour? He's quite light.
