Hi Silver
I think there are very slight differences between the male and female robo hamster, but other people may not think so, but i will tell you my oppinon
Males have a much more noticeable scent gland to look at and if you gently touch the scent gland you can detect a slight scent - obviously this is stronger with breeding males who are living with females and also with newly introduced robos, but i am not sure if this would be the same with just one male robo living on his own - i dont think he would use his scent gland as much, especially as there are not other robos from him to even smell.
Another difference is that male robos tend to get slightly bigger and mine seem lazier and more docile, but again, this might not be the case with other people, but i find that my tamest ones have always been males, but there is not much difference with them - the females tend to be more active and always wanting to explore while the males will occasionaly sit still and be stroked.
It does make a big difference if you get them from a breeder though, as they have usually been handled from the time they are 2 weeks old, whereas pet shops dont handle their at all - but i suppose this could be over come with regular handling and a patient owner
