Meet Koppiáge- my first ever non-Syrian
Well I meant to keep this under wraps for longer than a week, but I couldn't wait any longer! So here I am, finally sharing my exciting news.
Meet Koppiáge, my lovely little robo!
Now I know I was planning on a chinesey being my first non-Syrian hamster, but when looking through local adoptables, I noticed there were a lot of robos. Well I just fell in love with her (I assume she's a her, but I will need to properly sex her once she's comfortable enough to be handled).
Robos are so tiny!
This is her cage
It's pretty barren thus far, and the bin is only about 620 sq inches, but she seems happy in it. She has 10 inches of bedding in a majority of the cage, and about 6 inches in the lowest area. I know moss in hamster cages is debated, but I was going for more of a natural look, and I have monitored her closely with it. Plus, my cage is pretty well ventilated so I'm not too worried. This photo was taken before I added a sandbath
A pretty blurry pic, but I thought that it was crazy just how high up she runs on the wheel!
I'm definitely excited to have welcomed her into my little menagerie. She's your stereotypical robo, skittish and not super happy to be handled, but I enjoy a challenge. I'm also alright if it turns out she will be a look don't touch ham, I really want to provide her with the best home I possibly can. I plan to keep this thread updated on how she's doing and the progress we make with taming
So there we have it, a great big welcome to little Kopi

She is adorable, quite the acrobat too lol!
Her cage looks great, just the sort of set up a robo will enjoy I'm sure

Wow! It almost looks like she's going to go 360 degrees around the wheel. LOL
So cute!

Congratulations Drago, she is a beauty! I've always wanted a robo, so I'm jealous her name is pretty too, is there a story behind it?

Re: Meet Koppiáge- my first ever non-Syrian
Thank you! I'm really enjoying her company
To be honest, her name doesn't really have any meaning that I'm aware of. I believe some of you may know my crested gecko, Mila from Duncan's thread. Well, her name was Koppiáge before I bought her. This is what the breeder named her and I thought the name fit
I love this photo of her
Taming has been going pretty well thus far. I've been leaving tissues with my scent on it throughout the cage for her, and I even got her to take a mealworm from my hand a few days ago! She's very curious which I think will be helpful in getting to tame her. I'll make sure to keep documenting my progress

She's blooming gorgeous! Congratulations Drago on Koppiage, so glad you decided to introduce her now. That last pic is my favorite too.
