Default Fighting Females!

Hello,
I'm a first time hammy owner and I'm looking for some advice.

Can someone let me know if this cage > http://www.bitsforpets.com/images/sa-pl ... -image.jpg < is too small for two females? I was recommended this by the pet shop.

I've only got one of each things in there - house, wheel, food bowl and water. They seem to be fine when it comes to eating and drinking, and there's a nut bar thing they can gnaw on for their teeth.

Last night (I've only had them since the 17th Oct) they had a little scuffle, nothing major just a little slap fight it looked like, only lasted a few seconds and then they just carried on as per normal. Other times they will sit with each other and eat together and even run no the wheel (Not the one pictured in the image - it wouldn't turn so I got them a flying saucer wheel).

Is this cage size the problem for why they are fighting? They are meant to be about 8 weeks old.

If the cage is the problem, can someone give me some advice on what kind I should get for them? I'm in the UK as well btw.

Thanks so much. I'm still quite new to 'motherhood' and I'm worried about my little babies so any help will be appreciated!

the cage is fine, but you need two wheels. I recommend the regular silent spinner. You can easily fit two of these in a rody. Other than that, my only other suggestion is to remove anything they can fight over, such as tubes. Make the cage really basic with just the two wheels in for now and scatter food around the floor.

thank you I was a little unsure if it was too small. They seem to like moving the saucer about, it started off in one corner of the cage and its now up against the house lol.

They seem to have stopped fighting, at least at any time when I've been around them, which is most of the evening, I've not heard them during the night or anything so I'm assuming their little scuffle was just playing

If they start to act up again I'll get some of the spinners, as I was worried they might have been fighting over the saucer, but there's more than enough room for them to both get on and have a little run around.
