Default Hector: The Blurry Bobble

I promised an intro for Hector a couple of weeks ago, but hadn't counted on how long it would take to get a recognisably hamster-shaped picture of my newest little critter...

After losing Dexter only three months after rescuing him, it took a while before I was ready for a new face in the hamstery. I've long wanted a Robo, and about a month ago saw a tiny ball of fluff in the P@H adoption centre. His info said he had been in there about 3 months, so I estimate his age now to be about 7 months old.

He's settled quickly into his Tamburino tank, and absolutely loves his silent spinner and mouse ball. I can't get over how fast his little feet move in them! I always like to try and get all my hamsters used to being handled in case of vet visits etc, and fortunately he's both curious and very fond of biscuits, so taming has been going pretty well. He's happy to accept hand-fed treats and back stroking, but is still a bit wary of being picked up. We're getting there, though

(Although picture two is completely out of focus, I've kept it because it somehow seems to sum him up!)
