Re: October Baby, Angelica
I took her out of her bin today for the first time for taming. I transported her via tube. She was far from being tamed. Still wont take a treat from my fingers. She wants to since she seems curious but fear gets the better part of her. Will keep taking her out maybe every other day? Or you think I should not try taming her and just let her be in her skittish fearful state?

Re: October Baby, Angelica
I would keep trying, short sessions but keep it consistent, every day or two is fine.

Re: October Baby, Angelica
Robos are so cute! It's a pitty that they are usually so hard to tame!!
But don't worry, keep trying! Mine is a syrian and after one month and 3 weeks we are still on square one (well, maybe two, I can easily bribe him with food). We have to be strong, patient, and hopeful.

Re: October Baby, Angelica
I'll have to keep trying then, I've had her for over a month & wasn't going to try taming her, but maybe there is a chance she could learn to trust,

Just saw your post, her cage clean won't be for another 2-3 weeks. Doesn't seem like it needs it quite yet
Now I know that the tube will work

Re: October Baby, Angelica
Glad you've delayed the cage clean. You've only had her a short while and it's so worth it to bond with her, My Twinkle was a nightmare to bond with but I was determined that we would bond and it may have taken longer but so worth it.

Re: October Baby, Angelica
I know what you mean I have had her for awhile now and I have no idea what her personality is like cause there is fear. I want to get to know her eventually. if I was awake the same hours she is awake things would move quicker. She doesn't seem like she's terrified & nervous anymore. She wants to take a treat from me but she can't seem to get past the 4-5 inches in order to take the treat.

Aww she looks utterly adorable. I do hope you get her to take food from your hands.
Flower will tolerate me putting food into her cage without running away now. She is just over a year! She was also a breeder hamster so plenty of handling when young ...
Fairy still hides away when ever I come near.

Re: October Baby, Angelica
That's good about Fairy not running away. I will just have to have much patience. I gave her a month and 5 days or so without attempting to take her out. She's only up around 3 or 4 in the morning but she sometimes comes out other times too. If I take the lid off her cage she runs & hides

Re: October Baby, Angelica
Well it's been almost 2 months that I adopted Angel & today she came up to my fingers, holding a seed. She sniffed my fingers then darted off. So she hasn't had the courage to actually take a treat from me yet.
She's a rescue so who knows her background? By all the fear I've seen in Angel, probably wasn't a good home before me. She's slowly coming out more, she's ok with my hand in the tank for short amounts of time with a treat. There's still hope.
I saw a tame pied robo at Pet-Co yesterday. Makes me want to get another hamster but I wont.
