Question Is my roborovski a boy?

So when I bought my hamster from p@h I was told she was a girl. Likely I also gave 'her' the gender neutral name, Maus.

However recently I've seen what appear to be testicles on her. This has confused me a lot, since on many photos I've seen from gender comparisons of robos they do not have visble testicles. I have heard that their testicles are more prominent when they have just woken up, is this true? The only time I've spotted this, is when Maus is asleep or half asleep in her burrow. I have a clear been cage and she likes to make her burrows in the corner so I can see her in there. Unfortunately all I have is a very blury photo. If Maus was a bit more tame I would pick her up and have a look. I'm gonna take her to the vets soon to get her nails trimmed, so hopefully while I'm there I can ask the vet to confirm her gender.

This is the photo, I'm sorry it's so unclear, I will try take a better one when I can: (for some reason it's also in landscape rather than portrait)

If pink and round, probably a male

Sexing boy chinese and syrian hamsters is easy because of...well, you know...but smaller hams are a bit more difficult. It was hard to see with Hector, especially as he'd been bitten on the bum as a pup so his tail and fur were never as smooth there but when he had just got out of his warm nest, you could definitely see his back end was a bit pinker and slightly more prominent. With robos it's hard to handle them to get a proper look - you can try putting Maus in a jam jar and having a look but they don't always stay still for long enough (sunflower seed bribery can help a bit with that.) But yep, I'd say probably easiest to check when he's just got out of his warm nest.

Oh yeah good idea! I can definitely have a better look in a jam jar. I mean I'm pretty sure that she is now a boy lol but I'll have another look and maybe try and get a photo. It's funny I originally was going to get a boy but at the store they said they only had females. I even wondered it was possible they made a mistake since its very common. Actually now that I remember they didn't specifically check my robos gender, they picked another out the cage and said she was female which meant all of them would be female too.

When I took him to the vet to get his nails trimmed I asked the vet to check his gender. He didn't stay still enough for her to check properly but she said she thinks she felt a testicle which backs up what I saw. Also I noticed he had a yellow patch on his belly which I've heard males only have for sent marking or something. Also he didn't have much hair around that area which I've also heard males have.
