I wanted a 3rd lid made since I have so many hams, why not as he was doing such a good job for a low price but the manager said he wouldn't do another lid. He said that it takes an hour for his guy to make it and that the guy doesn't like making it and that during that hour he could get 10 screens made for other people so my hammie lid is not profitable for them. It was horrible customer service but at least I got 2 good lids from them. The guy couldn't have done a better job.

Maddi is becoming more confident these past few days. When she hears that I'm up and about she comes out and isn't afraid of me but is curious. She probably thinks, maybe I'll get some more seeds? lol

But she was curious in the pet store and that is what I was hoping would happen here once she got settled in and it looks like that is becoming the case. Yay!

She isn't biting anymore but some test nips still. Yesterday she didn't bite at all morning or evening. So there is improvement!

An hour to make one lid???No,that's got to be very wrong!Of course, the majority of DIY lids would take less than half of that so it's very strange that they say it takes an hour. They probably aren't using a wood burning knife/electrical heated knife to cut the lid since it takes way too long for what it is.

Great news on Maddi though! It's so nice when pets start being more confident and want to interact, even if it is just for food. It's still good if she sees you as a source of food though because that means you've got some positive impact

The job he did was excellent, he was an older experienced guy who does all their work in the back. The manager could have been lying but I can see that it did take him some time to do. Just take my word that he did a good job! I was very impressed. The manager didn't seem to be lying but like I said you never know. It was a hardware store! Using quality mesh and several tight zip ties so the lid is very secure if I ever wanted to put a Syrian in it? I just wanted one more so I wasn't happy about that
He said it was their busy season and it wasn't cost effective to do anymore?

I'm still unsure of upgrading due to space issues. I want to use this nice big bin however, so I'm sure I'll end up upgrading but not 100%. Could use it as a play pen & save it for a pair or dwarves down the road possibly

It just seems like a very shady way of running a business from my perspective.

There is always a good reason to have a larger cage though Of course, with so many hamsters you'd end up having to sort out how to have so many cages in one area that are large and really the only way I see it working well is a storage rack like one used in a garage.Actually, that's what most reptile breeders use as far as I'm aware It works out very effective for holding bin cages but also allows a lot of mobility.

It's not a shady way to run a business. All businesses want to make the best use of their staffs time and be as profitable as possible.

When someone is being completely rude and disrespectful and acting like they make no profit at all from something like that,it's very shady.Either way,it's definitely best to find a business that actually values each and every customer and doesn't disrespect a customer who is more than willing to pay for a service.

I can't have storage bin racks as I don't live in a garage lol
There would be ventilation issues as well with storage racks and all the bins would have to be the same size. That's not a possibility or something that I'd consider. Thanks though for the thought!

Might split the hammies up between my bedroom and the living room is what I'm thinking for the summer if I do upgrade.

You don't have to live in a garage to get them There's also the possible side ventilation to consider.Of course, that makes it even more complicated with substrate depths but with robos at least it wouldn't be a big problem to have a 2 inch depth! You're welcome though,I'll probably continue to try and figure out other random thoughts and maybe one day you'll find the perfect solution

That would have to be before this weekend! I'm deciding soon, although technically there is no rush I can upgrade anytime Will post pics if I do upgrade, as I have cute ceramic robo stuff from the Good will that I'd like to use and give Maddi a flying saucer that she otherwise won't get to have if I don't upgrade her. They live short lives so I want to try to give them the best now. Think it would be fun to upgrade so I probably will! It won't look the best in here if I don't split it up into two rooms but I am starting to see it working out! Hopefully!
