it was a quick solution the other night but i seems to work fine, they do burow under it and knock it over though.

they jumped in thier wheel last night at about 23:30 and they havent stopped since and it's now 08:40, is this normal? seems like a long run for such small creatures. thier not fighting over it yet but i will get a second wheel before they do.

Hello,

Cute robos! Some hamsters just get really addicted to their wheels, at night time is when they come out to play and if they're on their wheel all day then they are just getting exercise and having fun too

I don't know much about hamsters as I've had my first one for under a week but sometimes they can really get exhausted by running on their wheels ^.^

Nothing really to worry about though, Welcome to Hamster Central

Typical baby hamsters when the first discover their wheel The run round the world on the first day! Normally they will settle and run less time and at a more sedate pace with a week or so. If you think they are tiring themselves too much you could always give it for a few hours a day then remove it overnight

yea seems the novelty has already worn off lol.

they're not only nesting in the tube but they now also use it as thier toilet. im guessing its not normal for them to sleep where they crap? should i stop this somehow?

and they dont take any bedding into the tube, its just empty and they just sit in it.

tip (the whiter one) is very friendly and pretty easy to pick up and handle, top on the other hand nips at your fingers if you let her smell them and is almost impossible to pick up without her doing a suicide jump from my hands, will i be able to tame her?

It might be handy to remove the tube before it's time for them to go to bed (might be difficult if they go to sleep before you wake)
so to encourage them to make their bed elsewhere, they'll get smelly if they continue to use the tube as a toilet and a bed. Do you have a toilet area for them to use, they also might help.

As for the taming, it takes time and patience. We've got 4 robos, 3 boys (Max, Paddy and Henry) and 1 girl (Tilly) and i've found it easier to tame the boys than Tilly. Husky robos Max and Paddy are our first pair, nearly a year old and they are really tame and tamed fairly easy, Tilly our girl was next, we got her about 3 months ago and Henry our latest addition is still a baby but is tamer than Tilly already. I don't know if it's because she's a girl or not but the boys definately tamed quicker, well for us anyway!!

Use treats and slow hand motions, talk to them whilst doing so and hopefully she'll come round!
